Our house has a lid!

Well good and bad news for today.

The good news is that we met with our SS this am and all seems to be on track after a few delays in frame stage due to kinks in the Rowland 41 design. We are of course the guinea pigs so our SS is working it out as he goes along! Seems like a good bloke who is very keen to build a decent home on schedule.

The bad news is that we are down from 4 hermit crabs to 1 - don't know why we lost the three within a week or so of each other. For the kids' sake, we are hoping Zoydberg is with us for the long haul!

Our house got a face lift today with the roof tiles being laid - very happy with the colour and can't wait now for the next stages. SS said plumber and sparkie will start in next couple of days but we are likely to have delays with bricky as he has two jobs to finish before he starts ours. Apparently brickies are hard to find - as DeGaul would attest to!

Some pictures attached for your viewing pleasure...

FYI - we have noticed the frosted glass in the bathrooms is the wrong type - mentioned to CSC and she got SS to chase up. Subsequently, CSC has agreed glass in wrong type but no probs, they will fix prior to end of build - can't complain about that.

Oh no... Tragic news about the hermit crabs. Do you suspect any foul play?

Give you a tip. While the scaffolding is still up, climb onto it and inspect your nice new tiles for any not so nice chips or cracks. Once they take it down, you're stuck with what you've got..!

Your house looks terrific (and huge) against the blue sky.

If your brickie arrives and his name is Trevor, send him straight back to DeGauls to finish the job there.!
Cheers guys.

G&V,
sorry to hear about the crabs, losing a family pet is always sad for the kids. House is looking great and looks like youve got some good weather coming your way.

Nice roof guys ;-) It looks great. Bring on the bricking......Boral roof tiles? Colour? Style? hehehe

Sorry to hear about the crabs, hope Zoydberg didn't play a part. Steve had to go to the Pet Shop last Saturday, he walked in and said "I need a black fish with googly eyes" shop assistant said "ohhhhhh" Steve nodded and said "yes, there's been a death in the family". It was Benjamin's first fish and we didn't have the heart to tell him so Marlowe was replaced before he knew anything ;-)

DG: Good advice about inspecting the tiles now - will pass on to DH. House does seem pretty big, but the design allows us to "block off" the two back bedrooms which will help. ..and if we see Trevor we will send him back!

R&C: Hopefully good weather will stay around next week when plumber hits the site!

HTB: Love those colours don't you (he he). Our roof tiles are boral gunmetal and the bricks are boral raheen. Sorry to hear about the "disappearance" of Marlowe, did Benjamin notice?

Petal: Our SS was saying Brickies near impossible to find these days and always wanting more and more money per brick. Will keep our fingers crossed that he turns up towards end of next week.

..and thanks all of you for your kind wishes re the passing of Hermes, Shelly and Henry. I think Zoydberg did have something to do with it???

Zoydberg must want the crab pad to himself. Strange? I don't know much about Hermit Crabs.

Benjamin did not notice that Marlowe had changed ever so slightly. Steve came back with the new fish and cleaned out the tank, Benjamin walked into the laundry and asked why his fish was in a bag as the girls fishes were in a jug! Steve told him his fish was special ;-)

Thanks for the colours, yep we love to know them! Think T&L had Gunmetal too ;-)

forgot to ask.....what glass did you get in the bathrooms and what had you selected? Ta

Its a Crab conspiracy I reckon. Someone was hiding behind the gassy knoll.

Make sure you take lots and lots of photos of the walls as to where the plumbing and wiring goes. Makes life a lot easier when carrying out any alterations later ;-)
Yes we also chose Gunmetal for our roof tiles - Lov'em. House is looking good guys.
